Capitalizing on the Broadband Wireless Opportunity: A Primer for Channel
Partners
Sponsored by:

The broadband wireless revolution is in full swing as enterprises,
manufacturers, retailers, universities, governments and other organizations
realize the benefits of anywhere connectivity. Channel partners -- VARs, systems
integrators, agents and dealers - can tap into this lucrative transformation by
learning how to sell, design, install and maintain broadband wireless solutions.
The eBook, sponsored by
Motorola, shows channel partners how to make the business case for broadband
wireless and how to increase its effectiveness by deploying broadband wireless
in-building and outdoors for customers by using WLAN, near-indoor and citywide
technologies from vendors like Motorola.

Beyond WiMAX: Broadband Wireless for the Rest of Us
Of course you've heard about WiMAX and the 700MHz auction...and may be wondering,
what does broadband wireless mean for me as a channel partner selling
networking? Licensed spectrum technologies like WiMAX don't typically represent
an opportunity for channel partners to sell broadband wireless networking gear.
However, channel partners can leverage the buzz to cash in on other parts of the
broadband wireless world, such as supercharged 802.11n WLANs and outdoor
broadband wireless mesh networking.
Broadband Wireless, Inside and Out
As businesses derive the benefits of broadband wireless LAN technologies, they
are increasingly interested in extending those benefits to employees working
outside the building in a campus or freight yard. Similarly, some organizations,
such as universities or local governments, may have deployed outdoor broadband
wireless networks for certain applications only to find new ones that would
benefit users by coming indoors. The channel partners that can address both
sides of the indoor/outdoor equation stand to double their opportunities with
add-on sales or greenfield deployments of broadband wireless inside and out.
Stop the World and Mesh With...Local Munis
While free public Internet access was once synonymous with the broadband
wireless mesh networking scene, business model issues sank that movement and
left broadband wireless mesh technology to turn to other opportunities. That
might be a good thing, too, considering that channel partners are now finding
traction in mobile mesh with local government customers, deploying broadband
wireless networks to support a range of municipal applications from surveillance
to meter reading.
Advertorial: Value-Adds Feed Motorola's Channel Partner Ecosystem
With more than 80 percent of revenue coming from its indirect channel partners,
Motorola has made a serious commitment to growing its broadband wireless
solutions portfolio to meet the needs of its channel partners and the demands of
the market. To help channel partners see why they should consider partnering
with Motorola, Sue Moore, Motorola's director of channel marketing and
operations, government and commercial markets, highlights some of the advantages
of a consolidated solution for complete broadband wireless coverage and how the
hardware, software and applications combined make solution sales possible and
beneficial for channel partners.
